Is your pool deck looking kind of dirty?  It may be beyond just a simple
cleaning.  If so, a fresh coat of sealer needs to be applied after a good
cleaning to remove mildew, dirt and chipping or peeling sealer.  
Chattahoochee river rock decks also need to be sealed periodically as do
pavers.  Different sealers have different longevity depending on how much
pigment is in the sealer.  The clear sealers break down quicker to UV light
and need to be applied more often. Whereas opaque sealers hide the
natural colors of paver, but can add a lot of color to a plain concrete pool

Dirt stained patio also used by a dog.  It had to be re-sealed with an opaque sealer.
These paving stones had severe mildew growth in the joints.  The old sand had to be
removed and replaced with clean sand before sealing the pavers.  This is an
example of a water based interlocking paver sealer.  It brings out the colors a little
but is note shiny.
